When storing food bowls, the first priority is to ensure the environment is dry and clean. Damp environments easily breed mold and may cause odors or water stains on the surface of the bowls, especially plastic and wooden bowls. It is generally recommended to store bowls in well-ventilated cabinets or dish racks, avoiding prolonged exposure to damp corners or near the sink. Also, keep them away from areas with heavy oil fumes to reduce oil buildup.
Regarding storage methods, food bowls can usually be stacked, but proper protection is important. When stacking ceramic and glass bowls, it's best to place a soft cloth, paper towel, or non-slip mat between them to prevent direct contact that could scratch or break them. For bowls with thin edges or delicate craftsmanship, avoid stacking them too high to prevent increased pressure and potential cracking. While stainless steel bowls are generally durable, prolonged close stacking can also cause scratches; proper spacing is also recommended.
Food bowls should also be categorized as much as possible, such as by material, purpose, or size. This not only makes them easier to access but also reduces the chance of misuse. Children's bowls, soup bowls, and rice bowls should ideally be stored separately to avoid mixing and affecting efficiency. At the same time, the tableware storage area should be cleaned and organized regularly to prevent dust accumulation or forgotten bowls that haven't been used for a long time. Bowls that haven't been used for a long time can also be washed and inspected before reuse to ensure they are clean and safe.
