Tips For Using Oval Plates

Mar 10, 2026 Leave a message

When using an oval plate, take full advantage of its elongated shape to make the food arrangement neater and more aesthetically pleasing. Long or whole ingredients, such as grilled fish, chicken wings, or vegetable platters, are best placed in the center of the plate, while smaller side dishes or sauces can be placed on the sides or in the corners to create a layered look. For dishes with a lot of sauce, you can place a layer of lettuce leaves or parchment paper at the bottom of the plate to prevent spillage and enhance the appearance. Avoid piling food too high, as this can make eating inconvenient and prevent sauces from dripping onto the table.

Oval plates should be washed promptly after use, especially the deep edges or curved sections where sauces or food scraps may remain. Dispose of disposable paper plates according to their recycling categories after use. Plastic or ceramic plates should be washed with warm water and a neutral detergent and then air-dried or wiped dry. When handling the plate, try to support it with both hands by the ends to avoid tilting or dropping it. When storing, stack them flat, being careful not to crush their shape, and keep them dry to prevent moisture or mold.
